UPDATE: A note from the Sparkie team - August 2018

If you’ve been following our blog and social media content, you might have noticed we went dark for a little (or long!) while. We’ve been transparent about this in the past: like rescuers, we work full-time jobs and want to put the time we do have against the outcomes that will have the biggest impact on our current (and future) rescuer customers.

Over the past 9 months, that has meant working on 2 of our biggest feature releases to date: automatic email notifications of tasks AND templates to make data entry even faster and easier!

Templates enable customers to pre-load important information they want to add to an animal OR person's profile so that when a new record needs to be created, the information from the template can be added in, in just one click!

Email notifications shoot task 'to-dos' right out to the person who the task is assigned to! You choose the timing of the notifications and, when someone receives the notification he or she can just reply to the note to ask questions and/or mark the task done!

As such, we recognize that our non-software resources have taken a hit, and that we have followers who count on us for that (even if they don’t use our software...yet :)

So with that, we are going to reinvigorate our blog, and pick up where we left off on our startup software series, this time with a post about how to evaluate software you need to power your rescue.

While choosing the right software provider can take time, and definitely be a bit stressful during the process, the good news is that, whether you use free software or pay for it, whether it's software to help manage donors, finances, animals or all of this information, the evaluation criteria you can use is the same. So click onto our next article to read about what you need to know to make sure you pick the best software for YOUR rescue!
